Meet the Tutors

Hi! I am Taylor Haigler. Co-Founder of Seaside Scholars! I am an early childhood education teacher. I have been teaching kindergarten for four years and have been named Teacher of the Year 2025 - 2026!

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and an Ed.S. in K–12 School Counseling, which helps me support not only academic growth, but also confidence and emotional development in young learners.

I am OGAP-trained and LETRS-trained, and well versed in i-Ready. At Seasides I specialize in early elementary math tutoring. I love helping children build strong number sense, develop problem-solving skills, and gain confidence in math!

Most importantly, I believe every child can succeed when they feel supported, encouraged, and confident. Helping students grow in both skill and self-belief is what I love most about teaching.

Hi! I am Katie Pineda. Co-Founder of Seaside Scholars! I’m an early childhood educator with a passion for helping young learners grow both academically and confidently. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and an Ed.S. in K–12 School Counseling.

I previously taught first grade and was honored to be named New Teacher of the Year in 2022 - 2023! I am AVMR math-trained and UFLI-trained. At Seasides I specialize in early elementary reading tutoring. I love helping students gain confidence in their abilities by creating a love for reading. The UFLI program will help students achieve this by learning both encoding and decoding skills. 

I aim to help students feel empowered enough to make mistakes. The real learning happens you try again
